Home to Africa: Rebuilding a Safari Operator's Website From the Ground Up
Home to Africa is a Kampala-based tour company specialising in tailor-made trips across Uganda and the wider East Africa region, operating since 2012. Their website had reached the point where it couldn't be updated at all. I rebuilt it on WordPress, restructured their tours, added new landing pages, and handed back a site their own team can run.

A website nobody could work on
Elias, who runs Home to Africa, originally got in touch about some content updates. Once I got into the site, it was clear that wasn’t possible.
Two conflicting page builders
Installed side by side and fighting each other, so editing almost any page risked breaking it.

Expired premium plugins
Installed by a previous developer with every licence lapsed. No updates in two to three years, and no way to run them.

That’s a security risk, and a dead end for any new work. Patching it would have meant paying to prop up a site that would keep breaking, so I recommended a full rebuild and Elias agreed.
His brief was simple: a website that works and can be used going forward.

Does your safari website have the same problems?
Two page builders, expired plugin licences and updates you can’t run are more common than you’d think, especially on sites built by a developer who has since moved on. Get in touch and see what we can do for you.
